    2988 - pulley/wheel to drive leather belts in shearing sheds, mills etc.

  6. 2983: At a guess, it's hooked up to resistance meter and pressed into (or possibly onto) material to see how dry it is. Say agricultural products or wood.
    2985: Yep, mechanical cash register signs.
